“AnyDesk is a small but powerful application that gives users the ability to connect to access a remote computer and you can use this system from your system. It became even more famous during the COVID-19 era as it offers an easy and secure setup for working from home thanks to its military-grade encryption.

It’s free for everyone except the commercial users who need to buy licenses. AnyDesk is available on all platforms as linux, Windows, Android, iOS, Raspberry Pi and many other operating systems.

It’s not available in the official Ubuntu repository and we’ll have to install it manually, so we’re going to follow all the steps required for the installation Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jelly Fish.

There are two methods to install it and these are them

1. Using the GUI method
2. use terminal

Installing with GUI

Just follow these steps and you can install it easily and hassle-free

Step 1- Open Firefox or any other browser and use the following address to open AnyDesk official website.

Step 2- Once the download is complete it’s time to install it and for that you have to open the files from your desktop

Once you open files you will see the downloads folder right in the foreground, open it and look for the file you just downloaded and it will be named something like that “anydesk_6.1.1-1_amd64.deb”, Right-click on it and then select “Open with another application.”

Now we will see a pop-up window like this one

Click on this Install button and you will be asked to enter your password. Once you’ve entered the correct password, just hit enter and the installation process will begin, and in no time you’ll have it installed on your system

Installation via the terminal

AnyDesk can also be installed with Terminal, In doing so, we will use the following commands one by one as there is a large community that enjoys using this command line interface.

Step 1- Make sure the package list is up to date to avoid conflicts; Use this command

Note: Use the commands sequentially and individually.

And it will update the packages

Step 2 – Adding AnyDesk to the list of trusted software vendors on Ubuntu 22.04

And it will add AnyDesk on the list of trusted software providers

Step 3- Adding the AnyDesk repository to your system’s repository

Now we will add the repository to our system using the following command

Step 4 – Update the packages again

Step 5 – Install AnyDesk

We will not install AnyDesk with the following command.

And we installed it successfully

Step 6 – Launch

It can now be started with the following command in the terminal
